Coherent Synchrotron Radiation
Coherent Synchrotron Radiation (CSR) provides an intense source of radiation in the 7-25 cm-1 region. In the figure to the left you can see the intensity of CSR (RED) compared to normal synchrotron radiation (BLUE) This is accomplished by reducing the size to the electron bunches in the ring. A description of CSR at the Canadian Light Source can be found here.
CSR is run for three shifts twice a cycle and is available for General Users.
If you have an experiment that you believe would benefit from CSR please contact Brant Billinghurst.
