The Far-Infrared Beamline
The Far-Infrared beamline at the Canadian Light Source use the synchrotron as a very bright lightsource for high resolution spectroscopy and microscopy. The brightness of the synchrotron allows high quality spectra to be collected in a fraction of the time that would be required using a conventional source. The beamline (seen on the left) is equiped with a Bruker IFS 125 HR spectrometer with a 9.4 optical pathlength difference (OPD). This spectrometer is capable of achieving resolutions better than 0.001 cm-1. The Bruker IFS 125 HR Spectromter is equpped with the folllowing:
